Allspice- Pimenta dioica has a spicy, sweet flavour similar to a mixture of cloves, nutmeg and cinnamon, and can be added to sweet or savoury food, and brewed as a tea. It is also known as Jamaica pepper.
Allspice has anti-inflammatory properties, making it an ideal spice to give you some relief of arthritis, gout, muscle aches. Allspice is also known to soothe the stomach and aid digestion, and is rich in vitamin c and vitamin a – making it useful in boosting the immune system.
Allspice tea is made with ½ a teaspoon ground allspice, add boiling water and let it brew for 3 – 5 minutes, remove the teabag or strain. Enjoy your tea.
