Hibiscus – Hibiscus rosa-sinensis is rich in antioxidants, and has analgesic and muscle relaxant properties. It is useful for treatment of loss of appetite, colds, catarrh of the respiratory tract, fever and nausea. Hibiscus is known to protect the liver, improve digestion, aid in weight loss and relieve menstrual cramps. Hibiscus is also a natural anti-depressant.
Hibiscus tea is made with 1 – 2 teaspoon dried leaves, add 1 cup boiling water and let it brew for 3 – 5 minutes, remove the teabag or strain. Enjoy your tea.
