Calendula – Calendula officinalis has anti-inflammatory, antispasmodic, antifungal properties and is a lymphatic astringent.
Calendula is useful in the treatment of inflamed skin issues such as acne, eczema or insect bites. It soothes the irritation and promotes healing, it can be applied externally in lotions and ointments for bruises, diaper rash and burns.
Calendula is also a cancer prophylactic and is useful in cleansing and supporting liver function.
Calendula tea is made with 1 – 2 teaspoon dried leaves, add boiling water and let it brew for 3 – 5 minutes, remove the teabag or strain. Enjoy your tea.
