Basil – Ocimum basilicum is often enjoyed in Italian cuisine such as pesto or bolognaise.  Basil is an excellent source of antioxidants, and contains flavonoids which ensure the anti-inflammatory action in the digestive tract, balancing the acid within the body and restoring the proper PH level.

Basil is a good source of vitamin c, vitamin k, calcium, magnesium, potassium and iron.
